I, William, with the help of family and friends, am
determined to focus on turning a negative situation
into a positive challenge. In 1993 with a small group of
volunteers I helped start The William Heiser Foundation
(www.theheiserfoundation.org) to help find a cure for
paralysis. I intend to lead by example, hoping to
encourage others to get involved, and help fight for
